Patented Spine Stretching Process – How does it work?

MagniStretch mattresses are designed to decompress your spine, reducing muscle contractions and relieving back and neck pain caused by bad postural habits. The 2 sets of inclined foam sections move in opposite directions in response to your body weight, creating a subtle traction on your spine and increasing the space between the vertebrae. MagniStretch uses a technological patent created in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zaraoza, through an articulated program of ergonomic tests, and it is certified by ACA – AMERICAN CHIROPRATIC ASSOCIATION – the leading national association in the USA – for the beneficial effect of lengthening and relaxing the spine in the mattress.

The Cover

This high performance mattress starts with the cover.  MagniStretch chose a combination of Viscose and proprietary temperature regulating Outlast® fabric to create the perfect microclimate throughout the night. Made from cellulose, viscose is an ultra-soft high-tech fiber with a silky texture that is very pleasant to the touch. Its natural properties wick away moisture, keeping you dry and comfortable.

OUTLAST® is a thermoregulatory fabric that was originally applied to the astronauts’ space suits. Outlast® is a phase change material inside which there are millions of spheres made with a special wax that melts at a temperature of 36 degrees (97 F). As soon as the body temperature starts to grow, the technology goes into action, absorbing the excess heat. When the temperature starts to fall, the spheres inside the material start to consolidate and release the accumulated heat. This allows the ideal temperature to remain constant and improve the quality of your sleep.

To make life even easier, Magniflex went a step further and put a zipper around the perimeter so you can remove and dry-clean the cover

Comfort, Support and Patented Stretch Technology 

The special layers in Eliosoft (2”) and Elioform (8”), both with Stretch design, gently ‘stretch out’ your back towards the opposite ends of the mattress, reducing vertebral compression and giving a relaxing effect.

The high performance foams pull heat from the body and the breathable materials allow air flow to remove it from the mattress.  It does not retain top body heat like most memory foam beds that use visco-elastic foam.  It is also more responsive than traditional memory foam so it fills in the nooks and crannies quickly allowing you to move around in bed and not get “stuck”.

Support Layer

For support, MagniStretch chose an 8″ high-density foam core, Elioform.  This core allows for consistent proper support for those sleepers up to 220 pounds.  

Tufting

MagniStretch does not tuft its mattress, meaning the cover is not attached to the comfort and support layers.  This is for two reasons, first, the cover is removable so it can be easily cleaned.  Second, the mattress surface is flat.  There are no hills and valleys to feel underneath when you lay on the mattress.  For those that seek, flat surface from which to sleep, look no further.

Does it Sleep Cool?

YES!  Magniflex chose 3 technologies to ensure a cool, comfortable and dry night’s sleep.  It starts with the cover that wicks away moisture.  Then is followed by a layer of gel infused comfort and pressure relieving foam.  Gel is designed to pull away heat from the body (think osmosis from Jr. High science class!).  All layers are designed with air circulation in mind so after the gel pulls the heat away, airflow removes it from the mattress.  The result, a neutral to cool temperature throughout the night keeping you dry and well rested all evening.   

How About Edge Support?

Excellent.  Edge support comes from the 8 inch solid core.  Although the comfort foam 2” above the core is softer, the hyper responsive nature of the foam allows it to recover quickly.  Whether sleeping close to the edge or sitting, the mattress has a solid feel.  Feel free to use the entire sleeping surface with confidence.

Magniflex set out to build a mattress for high performance athlete recovery that everyone could benefit from.  The result, a patented interlocking system proven to expand (stretch!) the spine and decompress the back throughout the night.  From the moment you see the MagniStretch, you feel as though you are entering an Italian made high performance luxury vehicle.  The silky smooth cover has a silver arrows pattern that is cool to the touch.  And when you lay down, the pressure relief is immediate.  

This is no ordinary all foam mattress.  The top layer is hyper responsive so the foam fills in all the spaces in between the mattress and the body as you move.  However, the mattress is not “bouncy” which some hyperresponsive materials, such as latex, can produce.  Magniflex dampens any bounce by way of its dense core layer absorbing the shock and the patented interlocking design. 

MagniStretch is a multi-sleeper, which means it is designed to support all sleeping styles.  However, stomach and back sleepers will realize the most immediate benefit as the mattress is very supportive.  You will feel a little bit of sink, as you sleep more on top of the mattress but any movement, the foam will recover quickly and re-contour to the body.  

Side sleepers will also feel very nice pressure relief but the support system may make the bed feel a little firm.  However, you quickly feel the patented design help align and stretch the spine, putting you body in a relaxed state.  The key to any good night sleep is spinal alignment, usually when a mattress does not allow for proper spinal alignment we toss and turn at night, sometimes waking with back, hip or shoulder pain.  

The sweet spot of the MagniStretch is up to 220 pounds.  At that range, the MagniStretch will provide enough support to keep the body aligned for years with the mattress.  Over 200 may require additional support which can come from the 12” version of the MagniStretch.  However, for the budget category to which the MagniStretch falls, they have made the a luxurious mattress with unparalleled quality and superior support.
