The Cover

Comfort and Support Layers (Variable Sizes)

The Dreamfoam Essential is available in 6″, 8″, 10″, 12″ and 14″ models.  While the size varies, the top comfort layer will always be Gel Swirl memory foam to allow for a more responsive and customized sleep experience with added cooling.  The support core will be a high density base foam to ensure durability and provide exceptional motion isolation.  For additional comfort, the 12″ & 14″ selections have an additional layer of VariFlex foam for more comfort and responsive support.

The 6” and 8” versions are dual-layer mattresses recommended for stomach or back sleepers who desire a firm and firm-medium sleep experience, respectively, or for those who have bed profile limitations such as bunk beds.

The 10” model is a dual-layer mattress, designed for a medium-firm sleep experience. The added contouring and a firmer core can be beneficial to combination side, stomach and back sleepers.

The 12″ and 14” versions are triple-layer mattresses, featuring a premium VariFlex transition foam layer to ensure a gentler transition to the high-density base. The 12” offers a universally preferred medium sleep experience, while the 14” offers a soft-medium sleep surface, best suited for side sleepers in need of more cloud-like contouring.

Tufting

Tufting is the process where the individual parts of the mattress are either sewn or glued together to prevent slippage. In the Essential’s case, they chose top tufting, where the cover is sewn into the gel foam layer. Tufting helps keep everything nice and together. This is just another example of the little details Dreamfaom takes care of so you can rest easy.

Does the Essential Sleep Cool?

We found Dreamfoam Essential to offer a neutral temperature control. Being cool at night is all about being dry.  The Essential accomplishes this through it breathable cover, multiple gel memory foam layers and finally the breathability offered by the support base.

1. The cover wicks away moisture and enables you to directly feel the cooling properties.
2. The gel infused and responsive copper memory foam comfort layer pulls heat from the body (and doesn’t return it!)
3. As the mattress is all foam.  A hybrid can offer greater air circulation, however, the Essential channels warm air out of the mattress through its proprietary design.

How about Edge Support?

The Essential offers decent edge support.  The foam core support system maintains its strength all the way to the edge to allow for maximum use of the sleeping surface.  And, the stretched cover around the edge of the Essential helps keep the layers snug around the edges and corners.  Even though the Essential has several inches of memory foam comfort layer, you will be able to sleep comfortably all the way to the edge of the mattress without worry of “slipping off”!

Dreamfoam offers a 120 night trial period. You can either return it for a 100% refund, or you can adjust the comfort level with a free mattress topper during the trial period. You may also exchange it for a different mattress and pay/refund any price difference. Here’s how the system works:
