The Cover

Nectar’s top-of-the-line Premier Copper mattress starts with a soft, breathable poly-blend cover.  Similar to the Premier the Nectar has woven cooling materials into the fabric.  However, what sets the this mattress apart is the copper fibers woven into the cover.  Copper is one of the best heat conducting materials available.  The cover is the most advanced cooling cover on the market.  This plush, comfortable cover is actually COLD to the touch!

Comfort Layers

The Nectar Premier Copper captures its plush feel from the 3 layers (5 inches) of  comfort and pressure relief) in this 14 inch mattress.

1. In the first comfort layer, Nectar introduces 2 inches of gel infused
   

   

   breathable memory foam with Active Cool HD.  This contour and comfort layer provides pressure relief with cushion and support in the most sensitive areas (shoulders and hips).  This allows for proper spinal alignment and a more comfortable night’s sleep.  Active Cool HD is a phase change material that reacts to your body temperature and pulls heat from the body without returning it.  The breathable foam allows air flow to remove excess heat from the mattress.

2. Below the cooling foam is 2 inches of Nectar’s ultra supportive Active Lift layer. This is not only a pressure relieving foam but it is the higher dense foam that will have more energy absorption to cradle to the body like a cloud should.  The gel layer above pulls you in, so you don’t feel like you are stuck in one position for the entire night.
3. Below the cooling foam is 1 inches of Nectar’s dynamic support foam. The dynamic foam provides a firmer responsive feel that helps promote proper spinal alignment.

Support Layer

For support, Nectar chose a 8′ Infinity Innerspring Coils With Extra Edge Support.  These individually pocketed coils allows for consistent proper support for those sleepers up to 200 pounds. Eight inches of individually wrapped coils provide breathable edge-to-edge support and cushion your body’s curves. The perimeter is constructed with thicker coils for enhanced edge support.

The Base

The shift-resistant lower cover is on the bottom of the mattress. It is designed to prevent slippage to the base holding the mattress. While the bed won’t slip around at night, the lightweight nature of the foam comfort and support layers can cause movement of the mattress when one gets out of bed in the morning.  However, with the grip base: no slip-and-slide here!

Does it Sleep Cool?

YES! Nectar loaded the Premier Copper Hybrid with the most advanced technologies to give you the best cool, comfortable and dry night’s sleep. It starts with the copper infused and phase change material in the cover that pulls heat from the body and wicks away moisture. Nectar starts with the cool-to-the-touch antimicrobial silky smooth cover that has actual Copper fibers woven within.  Not only is copper antimicrobial, but it is one of the best heat conducting materials which acts to pull heat from the body.  Your first contact with the Premier Copper will be a cooling feeling.  Next, Nectar layered in the thickest layer of conforming foam of any Nectar model.  Because of this, the Premier Copper is ideal for side sleepers.  The foam will take you in, relieving pressure points in the shoulders and hips (where side sleepers need it most), helping to align the spine properly.

This being said, the 8″ of Infinity innerspring coils with extra edge support in the Premier Copper offers plenty of support.  Even for those of us in the 250lb range.  Sore backs will begin to melt away as the core foam supports the body.  The combo of the conforming comfort layer and support system will keep your body in a restful position all night long.

Lighter back and stomach sleepers (less than 130 lbs) can get away with Premier Copper Hybrid but may want to look towards the firmer Nectar Premier Hybrid or original Nectar Hybrid Mattress.

The additional conforming foam provides plenty of sink.  As a result, the Premier Copper Hybrid feels more like sleeping “in” the mattress as opposed to “on top” of the mattress.  While there is a 2 inch layer of responsive foam, the larger layer of plush foam gives a more memory foam energy absorbing feel.  The Nectar Premier Copper Hybrid will tend to keep you in one place throughout the evening.  In short, the significant cooling technology and comfort upgrades make the Nectar Premier Copper Hybrid is a steal in this budget range.

While the Nectar Premier Copper Hybrid has a coil support system, Nectar has employed several techniques to mitigate motion transfer.  First, the 5 inches of pressure relieving gel helps to dampen any transfer.  The open celled technology within the foam does not transfer motion so you will not feel your partner throughout the night.  Second, the coils are individually wrapped to help isolate the support system.  If you seek absolute motion isolation, look towards the all foam Nectar Premier.  Otherwise, the Premier Copper Hybrid should have you sleeping soundly and undisturbed throughout the night.
